Neymar of PSG and Liverpool’s Mo Salah
Former Arsenal, West Ham and Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted he would rather have Mohamed Salah in his team over PSG star Neymar.
Wilshere also branded the Liverpool star ‘scary’ due to his consistent form since he joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017.
Salah left the Premier League with a flop status as he had a very underwhelming stint at fellow title-chasers Chelsea during Jose Mourinho’s second spell at the club.
After moving on from life in England’s top flight, Salah enjoyed fruitful spells in the Serie A with Fiorentina and Roma, before Jurgen Klopp secured his signature.
Eyebrows were slightly raised when Klopp spent around £34 million for Salah, but his goal return and overall play proves it was a shrewd bit of business - as Salah has helped to secure Liverpool’s first Champions League since 2005, and their first league title for 31 years.
Whilst his calendar hasn’t been as trophy laden as the former Chelsea winger would have wanted, he has still excelled personally, and this season has 15 goals to his name, the most in the Premier League - and he is also top of the assists charts too.
Wilshere, whose promising career was derailed through injury, also stated that he believes Salah is currently the best player in the world, and he was then asked to choose between Salah and PSG superstar Neymar.
Wilshere replied on talkSPORT by bluntly saying: “Salah.”
He then went on to say: “Everyone is talking about him being the best player in the world, at this moment and I agree.
“The types of goals he scores. The way he runs at defenders. His consistency as well over the last few years is scary. I think he deserves that credit. But Salah for me.”
