Manchester United eye Xavi Simons deal

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United will ‘target’ a move for RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons in the next transfer window. The Red Devils are keen on luring the Holland international, who has 26 caps to his name, to Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim will be looking to bring in some more quality to boost his squad.

Simons, 21, could be seen by the North West outfit as someone to bolster their attacking ranks. They have underperformed once again this season and are in the bottom half. The Amsterdam-born man has been a key player for his current club over recent times and has proved himself in the Bundesliga.

He was on the books at Barcelona from 2010 until 2019. PSG came calling in 2021 and he was later sold to PSV before the French giants ended up re-signing him. Simons didn’t play for the Paris club during his second spell there though and was instead loaned out to Leipzig for two years before later joining them permanently.

Arsenal and Chelsea want Benjamin Sesko

It has been well documented how much Arsenal need to sign a striker. They currently have midfielder Mikel Merino up top for them and need to bring someone into the club in that department later this year. With that in mind, German news outlet Bild have claimed that they are admirers of Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko along with Chelsea and United.

The Gunners may have identified as Sesko as someone to add more firepower to their striking options. Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are out injured and are due to return. However, they still need to acquire more bodies in that area.

Sesko, 21, would be ideal for Mikel Arteta’s men. He has proved himself in Germany and has knows where the back of the net is. The Slovenia international has bagged 37 goals in 82 outings, 19 of which have come this term.

Arteta suggested in January that he wants another attacker: "My opinion is clear. We lost two very important players in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus, so we lack goals, people, and options in the front line. It's clear that for the period that we have lost them, ideally we need some help, because we were short already and we're even shorter. The team has still coped with that but we have do what is right for the club. If we can get the right player, that's what we are actively looking at, but any player - no, we need someone that makes us better and makes an impact on the team.”
