Norwich City returned to the Premier League once again this season and are yet to pick up their first win, earning only a point from their opening seven fixtures.

talkSPORT pundit and former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has shared an explosive rant on talkSPORT radio today and believes the ‘ridiculous’ Canaries are killing the Premier League.

He told talkSPORT: “There are 20 teams in the Premier League and it’s almost getting ridiculous with Norwich. They are yet to win a game.

“It starts to raise the question for me, Norwich have come into the Premier league again and are the whipping boys.

“I said it at the start of the season and I took a load of stick from Norwich fans who were saying ‘we’re going to have a go this season, we spent money, we’re going to be there’.

“Again they are showing they are an embarrassment to the Premier League. They’ve got one point and it’s just ridiculous.”

Last season’s promotion to the top tier was Norwich’s fourth in ten years and the Norfolk club have come under fire recently and are often labelled a ‘Yo-Yo’ club for their approach to their brief spells in the Premier League.

The last few seasons have seen the gap between bottom place and safety reach up to 20 points and often there are teams that appear to be destined for relegation before the season even begins.

Following his criticism of Norwich City, O’Hara has urged the Premier League to reduce the number of teams in the top tier in order to improve competitiveness and remove ‘irrelevant football matches’.

“It [Norwich] raises the question of all these players being fatigued, too many games, the big teams looking at doing the Super League, which I’m against, but I think they are starting to get the hump with irrelevant football matches,” O’Hara said.

“I think you could drop it down to 18 teams and you get rid of the dross. Get rid of the teams who are no good, who are killing the Premier League, because it has got to such heights now.

“These games where you’ve got Norwich getting beaten all the time, coming up and just killing the Premier League, it’s just pointless.”

There are currently four sides yet to win a game this season - Norwich City, Newcastle United, Burnley and Southampton - while Leeds United scraped their first victory of the campaign against Watford at the weekend.
