Premier League clubs have been hit with a number of high profile match postponements as the division continues to deal with widespread Covid outbreaks.

A total of five games have been called off ahead of what was scheduled to be a full round of top flight fixtures this weekend, with several others delayed earlier in the week.

Which Premier League matches have already been postponed?

The first game to affected by this recent spate of positive tests was Tottenham’s clash against Brighton last Sunday.

Two days later, Manchester United’s match against Brentford was also called off, as was Watford’s trip to Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Spurs then had another game cancelled when their fixture with Leicester City was postponed on Thursday.

In total, five matches have been called off in the Premier League this weekend.

The first to be nixed was Manchester United’s clash with Brighton, but that game was followed soon after by Southampton vs Brentford, Watford vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Norwich City, and Everton vs Leicester City.

Which Premier League games are still set to go ahead?

With five matches called off, the Premier League’s planned fixture schedule has been halved, but there are still five games that are expected to go ahead this weekend.

Aston Villa will face Burnley at 3pm on Saturday, with Leeds United and Arsenal competing later in the day at 5.30pm.

On Sunday, Newcastle United vs Manchester City and Wolves vs Chelsea will both kick-off at 2pm, with Tottenham hosting Liverpool at 4.30pm.
