Chelsea and Villarreal became the final two teams to progress to the quarter-finals after they knocked out Lille and Juventus respectively on Thursday night.

The next round will see only three Premier League sides feature after Manchester United suffered a narrow defeat to Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford earlier this week.

The Round of 16 has provided us with some excellent entertainment and now we will await to see what juicy ties the quarter-final draw will bring us.

The draw for the quarter finals of the 2022 Champions League is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 18 at 12:00 CET (11:00 UK time).

The full draw will be held at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland and will be streamed live by UEFA on their YouTube channel.

Once the draw for the quarter finals have been concluded the organiser are set to move immediately on to the semi finals draw, meaning the eight remaining teams will have a clear path to May’s final laid out in front of them.

At this stage of the competition, unlike in the group stages, teams from the same country CAN be drawn against each other meaning their could be an all-Premier League tie coming out of the pot.

When are the Champions League quarter final fixtures?

The quarter finals of the 2022 Champions League are due to be played in April on the midweeks of April 5/6 and 12/13.

The first leg matches will take place on April 5 and 6 and the second legs on April 12 and 13.

The semi-finals are due to be played on April 26/27 and May 3/4 with the final taking place on May 28.

Who is in the Champions League quarter finals?

The Champions League Round of 16 brought us some big surprises and some thrilling scorelines.

Manchester United are the only English team to be knocked out of the competition so far, despite heading into their second leg home tie with confidence after they scraped a draw in Madrid.

Manchester City’s 5-0 first leg victory against Sporting Lisbon guaranteed them a spot in the next round, while Liverpool and Chelsea managed to hold off Inter Milan and Lille in their second leg ties.

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich will unsurprisingly feature in the quarter-finals after they put seven past RB Salzburg at the Allianz Arena, while Real Madrid shocked Paris Saint-Germain and knocked out Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi - much to the anger of the French supporters.

Other upsets saw Benfica come out on top against Ajax, while Villarreal beat Juventus 3-0 in their own backyard to see the Italian giants knocked out of the Champions League at the Round of 16 stage for the third consecutive season.
