The final of Euro 2020 is almost upon us.

Football fans have been treated to an action-packed schedule of matches so far, leading to many wondering when the final of the Euros will take place.

England have written new chapters for the history books with a last 16 win over Germany and semi final success against Denmark either side of a resounding quarter final victory versus Ukraine.

Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions have made it to the final of a major football tournament – something which hasn’t been done since the 1966 World Cup by England – where they will face Italy.

The Euros tournament was delayed a year due to the Covid pandemic but maintained its original branding to celebrate 60 years of the UEFA European Championships.

Which city will host the Euro 2020 final?

Wembley Stadium has been selected as the venue to host the Euro 2020 final from the remaining cities where tournament matches are being played.

Located in London, England, the new Wembley is a 90,000-seater stadium but not all of the ground will be full for the final due to ongoing Covid regulations.

The UK government has confirmed Wembley can run at 75% capacity for the final as part of its testing programme to allow large crowds back to live sporting and music events.

There had been speculation the final would be moved from Wembley to Budapest if overseas fans travelling to London would be forced to quarantine for 10 days, with talks ongoing.

UEFA, European football's governing body, confirmed a contingency plan was in place but had no plans to move the semi-finals or the final away from Wembley.

Can I get tickets to the Euro 2020 final?

The vast majority of tickets for all Euro 2020 matches were snapped up through UEFA's ticketing ballot system in 2019 before the Covid pandemic hit.

Limits on crowd capacities have meant that some people who had initially got tickets may have been given a refund due to there being not enough seats as planned.

The unlucky ones who have had their tickets cancelled were chosen by UEFA at random.

The Euro 2020 final will be shown live on TV across BBC and ITV platforms in the UK.

The BBC and ITV have won split coverage of the Euros football tournament in the summer of 2021, with both channels showing the final on 11 July.

The game will be accessible to viewers through the broadcasters’ respective online platforms BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub.

Coverage of the final is expected to start at least an hour before kick off as expert pundits analyse each team’s chances of winning Euro 2020 and their route to the final.
