Martin Zubimendi’s decision to remain at Real Sociedad amid interest from Liverpool was one of the biggest snubs of the summer transfer window. In a recent interview, the Spanish international has revealed his reasoning, saying that the club is ‘my life’.

Speaking with Spanish outlet Marca, Zubimendi said: “My friends are clear that whatever I decide will be the best. There is no pressure whatsoever. Real Sociedad for me is my life, I think I have spent half my life there. A lot of what I am is part of La Real, it is my life.”

Crystal Palace sold one of their top players, Michael Olise, to Bayern Munich in the summer. Eagles chairman Steve Parrish said he was ‘proud’ that the deal went through, saying that ‘we want to be selling to the top clubs’.

Speaking in an interview, featured by Fabrizio Romano on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Parrish said: “We're proud of the fact that Olise's gone to Bayern. We want to be selling to the top clubs or top clubs like Newcastle who've got great aspirations. We want to be playing in the Champions League. The reality is we don't right now.”
