Gervonta Davis: Former three-weight boxing champion arrested over strip club domestic violence allegations - after two weeks at large

Gervonta 'Tank' Davis has been arrested in Miami following a two-week police search for the boxer in connection to a domestic abuse allegation.

Officials put out an arrest warrant for Davis on January 14 with the 31-year-old wanted on charges of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping in connection to an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred in October 2025. He was finally detained on Wednesday following a manhunt conducted by Miami Gardens Police Department and US Marshals, according to TMZ.

The exact circumstances surrounding Davis's apprehension are currently unclear. The charges stem from an alleged incident at a strip club in the Miami Gardens area with a woman accusing the world lightweight champion of domestic violence.

The woman, who police chose to keep anonymous, said she had an intimate relationship with him for five months which ended around a month before the incident. She subsequently cut off communication with Davis following the split.

She accused Davis of approaching her while she was working at the establishment around 4:15am local time one evening last October. The woman alleged that Davis 'grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her by the hair with one hand and by her throat with another.'

She told officers that Davis, while still maintaining his grip on the back of her head, then 'forcefully escorted her' down a stairway and into a parking garage. After reaching the parking area, Davis is said to have finally released her and the woman ran to her co-workers for help. Two days later, she went to the police station to report the incident.

She reported some minor injuries including bruising to her left arm. Police said that detectives had obtained video footage 'that corroborates key elements of the victim's statements.' The alleged victim also sued Davis over the altercation back in October, which derailed his fight against Jake Paul that had been scheduled for November.

The complaint detailed at least four previous altercations, including two in which Davis allegedly threatened to kill her. The lawsuit said that the woman is now undergoing therapy for post-traumatic stress and anxiety and is living with others out of fear for her safety. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and has requested a jury trial.

The arrest adds to a lengthy list of legal issues that have followed Davis throughout his boxing career. He has faced multiple domestic violence-related allegations in Florida and elsewhere, several of which were later dropped. In 2023, Davis was sentenced in Maryland to three years of probation and a period of house arrest following a hit-and-run conviction in Baltimore.
