One of the biggest stories surrounding this year’s event has been the potential return of five-time winner Tiger Woods, who is hoping to prove his fitness in order to take part.

However, despite his incredible pedigree, the 46-year old will not be considered amongst the favourites if he does indeed take part.

Ahead of the event, which begins on Thursday, here are some of the latest outright betting odds:

The Spaniard, 27, will be looking to win his first ever Green Jacket and just his second Major having won the US Open in 2021.

Before the year his best ever showing at Augusta came in 2018 when he finished fourth.

Right behind him as the second favourite is the USA’s Justin Thomas who is priced at 12/1.

Like Rahm, the 28-year old is also looking to win The Masters for the first time with his best placed finish coming in 2020 where he also ended fourth.

Thomas has also won just one Major in his career so far, the 2017 PGA Championship.

Two Americans and an Australian are joint-third favourites at 14/1, with Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith and Scottie Scheffler close behind the front two.

Johnson is the shortest odds of players who have won the tournament before, having claimed the Green Jacket in 2020, while Smith and Scheffler are both looking to secure their first ever wins at Major events.

What odds is Rory McIlroy to win The Masters?

Only a very elite selection of golfers have won a career Grand Slam but Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy could add his name to that list with victory at The Masters.

The 32-year old has won two PGA Championships (2011 and 2014), The US Open in 2011 and The Open Championship in 2014 but has never claimed the Green Jacket.

His best ever finish in Augusta came back in 2015 when he came fourth.

McIlroy starts the tournament at 18/1 and is in good company with those odds as it is the same price for his Ryder Cup teammate Viktor Hovland, as well as USA duo Jordan Spieth and Collin Morikawa.

What odds is Tiger Woods to win The Masters?

If Tiger Woods is fit enough to take part then he will start the betting at 50/1, which is same price as notable names such as Adam Scott and Tommy Fleetwood.

A win for Tiger would tie him alongside the legendary Jack Nicklaus for most wins in the competition with six.

Meanwhile, other big names further down the betting include defending champion Hideki Matsuyama and Team USA Ryder Cup member Bryson Dechambeau (both 40/1) and 2018 winner Patrick Reed (66/1).
