Team Europe get set to open their defence of the famous trophy one year after the Covid-19 pandemic saw the competition postponed.

The 2021 Ryder Cup gets underway this week as Team Europe take on Team USA at Whistling Straits Golf Course, Wisconsin.

The sometimes controversial, always thrilling contest will see the hosts look to dethrone the reigning champions as fans on both side of the Atlantic strap in for three days on intense competition.

With the USA hosting this year and the Covid-19 pandemic still impacting international travel there will be plenty of Team Europe supporters cheering on the men in blue from their armchairs.

After having to wait an extra year for the competition to come back around, golf fans will be hoping to witness some of the competitions famous drama, as was seen in 2012 at Miracle in Medinah when Team Europe produced one of the greatest and most dramatic comebacks in sporting history.

Here are all the details of how to watch the 2021 Ryder Cup live from the comfort of your own living room.

What channel is the Ryder Cup on?

Sky Sports have exclusive rights to broadcast the competition in the UK and customers can get around the clock coverage and content via their dedicated Sky Ryder Cup channel (channel 405).

The coverage has already began with “Live from The Ryder Cup” broadcasts and the 2021 event officially gets underway at 10pm on Thursday, September 23 with the Opening Ceremony being broadcast live.

Can I watch the Ryder Cup on Now TV?

Is the Ryder Cup on the BBC?

The BBC will show highlights from each day of the Ryder Cup on BBC2 and BBC Iplayer.

They will be on BBC 2 at: Saturday, 25 September 00:05-02:05 and 07:10-09:10, Sunday, 26 September 00:00-02:00 and 07:15-09:15, Sunday, 26 September 23:20-01:20 and Monday, 27 September 13:30-15:30.

There is also audio coverage available across there radio and digital channels.

Ryder Cup schedule and Tee Times

The opening ceremony will be broadcast live from 10pm BST on Thursday, September 23.

The competition gets underway on Friday, September 24, and continues to the final rounds on Sunday, September 26.

The schedule is:

  • Day one (September 24): Foursomes starting at 1:05pm BST, fourball matches from 6:10pm BST.
  • Day two (September 25): Foursomes starting at 1:05pm BST, fourball matches from 6:10pm BST.
  • Day three (September 26): Singles matches featuring all players from 5:04pm BST.

Team USA are the pre-tournament, odds on favourites for the match.
