The Royal Albert Hall will once more host the Champions Tennis event this weekend. The event is an official part of the ATP World Tour and the matches are a semi-competitive fixture between old and new tennis stars.

Players such as Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and John McEnroe have previously taken part in the event which is held in one of London’s most iconic locations.

Former British number one Greg Rusedski will return to the court once more in this year’s competition and will be joined by a number of other tennis heros.

Emma Raducanu, the British star and 2021 US Open Champion will be competing in an exhibition match on Sunday alongside Elena-Gabriela Ruse.

Raducanu has had a rollercoaster of a first season on the WTA Tour and will hope that the upcoming match against a fellow Romanian will help keep up her practice as she prepares to travel full time on the WTA Tour next year.

After her incredible US Open achievement, she then crashed out in her opening match at Indian Wells before making it to the quarter finals of the Transylvania Open.

The 19-year-old’s outing on Sunday will also be her first official match with her new trainer Torben Beltz who has previously worked with 2018 Wimbledon Champion Angelique Kerber.

Raducanu did not renew the contract she had with her childhood coach Andrew Richardson ahead of Indian Wells 2021 in September and has since been searching for a permanent replacement.

In 2021, Raducanu jumped 322 places in the WTA rankings and currently sits at number 19 following her US Open triumphs.

Here’s all you need to know about how to watch her exhibition match.
