How to watch Women’s Ashes on TV: UK coverage of Australia vs England 2022 - channel, live stream, highlights

BT Sport will show all the action as England and Australia’s women cricket teams face each other once again

England and Australia will meet each other once again as the women’s cricket teams prepare to battle it out in their own Ashes series.

Their male counterparts have just finished their own 2021/22 series which was heavily dominated by the Australians and the English women cricketers will no doubt hope to rectify some sort of hope in the world of English Cricket as they begin their campaign on Thursday 19 January.

Knight will lead the team for her third Ashes series

This will be Heather Knight’s third Ashes series as England captain and she will hope to finally be able to regain that trophy, a feat which England have not managed since Charlotte Edwards captained the side in 2013/14.

Meg Lanning will once again lead the Australians as she prepares for her fourth Ashes series.

The last time the two sides met in an Ashes series was a fairly devastating event for England. Australia secured an ODI 3-0 win as well as a 2-1 win in the T20 series. The test was drawn which was a mild consolation prize for a depressed England team.

Knight will hope that she and her team are motivated by the dismal efforts of their male counterparts and will fight through what will no doubt be another challenging tour.

Here is all you need to know about how to follow the Women’s Ashes tour…

What has Heather Knight said ahead of the series?

Knight - who became the first female cricketer to score a fifty and take a five wicket haul in an ODI innings - has spoken on the difficulties of training in a pandemic.

Speaking to the press during training, Knight said: “It was naive to think we wouldn’t be affected by Covid.

“There is obviously concern and anxieties from the group. We’ve had to live under pretty strict protocols since we arrived.

“There’s a frustration there but it’s the time we live in at the moment - it’s very challenging to tour with Covid around.

“The restrictions we’ve been under have changed so being adaptable to that as a player is tricky. As soon as you get your head round something, something else changes

“But we’ve got no other option to try and make the most of it and do the best of it.”

“Two weeks before we left England we could only train as individuals and with our households so we had mums feeding bowling machines, boyfriends and girlfriends slinging, dads batting and any family member or households supporting our training.

“As you can imagine, it’s been pretty comical but also not ideal preparation for a series of this magnitude.”
