NFL confirm Green Bay Packers will play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022

Green Bay Packers will beome the 32nd NFL franchise to play in London.

The NFL announce yesterday that the Packers will finally make the trip to the UK to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London this year.

Green Bay had previously been the only team to not yet have played a regular-season game in the NFL International Series, which began in 2007.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the first and only stadium to be designed specially for NGL games outside of North America.

The Green Bay Packers will compete in the NFL at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London.

The first NFL game at the stadium took place in 2019 when the Chicago Bears faced the Oakland Raiders and they have since gone on to host the likes of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The four-time Super Bowl champions will be joined in London by the Saints and the Jaguars, with the latter playing at Wembley Stadium.

Following the announcement, Packers president and chief executive, Mark Murphy, said: “The Green Bay Packers are excited to make our international debut during the 2022 season.

“Our fans in the UK and elsewhere in Europe have been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to see the Packers play in their backyard, and we know that many of our fans in the United States will travel to London.”

Miami Dolphins took on Jacksonville Jaguars at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in October.

It has also been confirmed that Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena will play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur stadium’s NFL success since their 2019 opening has led to them eyeing a bid to host the Super Bowl as early as 2026, according to the Daily Mail.

If the Super Bowl was to come to the UK then Tottenham would be the event’s first overseas hosts in its 55 year existence.
