The US Open is upon us.

New York’s Flushing Meadows welcomes the world’s top tennis players for two weeks of on court action, with spectators in the stands.

British players, including Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu, will compete at the US Open 2021 as the hunt for honours at one of the four Grand Slams begins.

Here’s all you need to know about the US Open schedule, the order of play, top men’s and women’s seeds and the latest odds on overall tournament winners.

US Open 2021 schedule

Two weeks of US Open tennis action has begun.

Following the qualification days, the first rounds of the men’s and women’s draws took place across Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August.

The first, second, third and round of 16 matches are played in week one of the US Open before the quarter finals kick in from Tuesday 7 September.

Further quarter finals in the doubles and wheelchair tennis continue throughout week two before the finals over the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September.

US Open 2021 order of play

The action in the first week of the US Open begins at 11am (local time) and is the first of two sessions in the day, with the evening session starting at 7pm.

This changes to a 12noon start time in the second week, with both women’s and men’s singles finals scheduled to start from 4pm over the 11 and 12 September.

The US Open is being played in New York, USA, which is in a different time zone to the UK.

UK viewers wanting to follow the US Open will have to bear in mind the UK is five hours ahead of New York, altering the start times for tennis fans this side of the Atlantic Ocean.

It means the first session of the first week will begin at 4pm (British Summer Time) and the second session of the first week will begin at 12 midnight (BST).

The first session of the second week will start from 5pm (BST) and the second session of the second week will begin at 12 midnight (BST).

Both men’s and women’s finals are scheduled for a 9pm start (BST).
