Super Bowl LVI (56) is rapidly approaching as we have finally reach the big day of the annual showpiece match.

The stage is set for the Super Bowl final tonight after we discovered the two teams that will be battling it out in California’s SoFi Stadium.

When is Super Bowl 2022?

The 56th edition of the Super Bowl will be played tonight - Sunday, 13 February 2022.

In recent years the match has been played on the first Sunday of February but an additional regular season game in the 2021 schedule has seen it pushed back for 2022.

The SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California will host the 56th Super Bowl.

It will be the first time the city of Inglewood has hosted the Super Bowl and the eighth time in the Greater Los Angeles area, with the last one being Super Bowl XXVII in 1993 which was held at the Rose Bowl.

The NFL has also stated that if Covid-19 restrictions increase in Los Angeles by the date of the event, the game could be moved to the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

What time is Super Bowl 2022 in the UK?

Super Bowl 56 is due to kick off at 11:30pm in the UK, which will be 3pm in California.

The match itself will last 60 minutes (four 15 minute quarters) but the event itself will take considerably longer when factoring in the half-time show and multiple commercial breaks. It is expected that the event will run until around 3am in the UK.

This year’s halftime show is due to be headlined by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.

How to watch Super Bowl 2022 in the UK

The 56th Super Bowl will be televised on both BBC One and paid-subscription channel Sky channels Showcase, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports NFL.

There will also be radio coverage on BBC Radio 5 Live.

In the UK, Super Bowl 56 can be live streamed via BBC Iplayer.

Alternatively, non-Sky customers can watch the subscription service’s coverage with a NowTV pass.

Who will win Super Bowl LVI?

The Green Bay Packers had been the current favourites to win the 56th Super Bowl.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the reigning champions and were shockingly knocked out just before the final playoffs with just the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals left to play.
