When is the 2022 Cazoo Tour Championship? TV, dates and players involved in snooker tournament

We are now into the business end of the 2022 snooker season, which runs until the World Championship April/May.

Just two men’s tournaments remain after the ongoing Gibraltar Open, and one of those is the fast-approaching Cazoo Tour Championship.

The Tour Championship brings together the best snooker has to offer, with just eight players selected to compete.

And ahead of the competition getting underway in Wales, we have rounded up all you need to know.

When is the Cazoo Tour Championship?

The 2022 Cazoo Tour Championship kicks off on March 28, concluding on April 3.

The tournament begins at the quarter-final phase and will progress through to the April 3 final.

Who is involved?

Qualification for this tournament is based on the one-year rankings up to and including the Gibraltar Open, which finishes on March 26.

On March 27, the top eight ranked players will secure qualification for this competition.

World number one Zhao Xintong is already assured of a position due to his healthy points lead in the rankings, and he has already secured the first seed.

Beyond Xintong, we already know defending champions Neil Robertson, as well as Ronnie Sullivan, Judd Trump, Luca Brecel and Mark Williams will be competing.

Mark Allen and John Higgins are currently seventh and eighth in the rankings, but they are not yet guaranteed to stay inside the top eight.

Where is it?

The Tour Championship takes place in Llandudno, Wales, and specifically at Venue Cymru.

Prize fund

There are plenty of prizes available, with players awarded £20,000 just for qualifying.

Those who progress to the last four will get £40,000, with the winner taking £150,000 and the runner-up securing a £60,000 cheque.

The player who scores the highest break over the course of the competition will also bag £10,000, with the total prize fund standing at £380,000.
