With only four games left of the Premier League season, Leeds United is looking to not only stay above the relegation zone but also come back from a four-game defeat.

The northern team currently managed by Javi Garcia have lost four out of their last five games and are set to face off against League leaders Manchester City on Saturday, the day of King Charles’ coronation.

Javi Garcia joined the Leeds squad in February on a ‘flexible contract’ replacing Jesse Marsch as manager, after he was sacked by Watford in September 2019 due to a poor performance, despite taking them to their first FA Cup final in 35 years.

While Garcia managed to get Leeds out of the relegation zone on goal difference, the team is reportedly ‘set to sack’ him to bring in Sam Allardyce who has managed sides such as Bolton, West Ham and Everton.

If the reports are true and ‘Big Sam’ makes his return to the Premier League after his first relegation from the 2020-2021 season, PeopleWorld has got you covered on all you need to know about the football manager.

Known as ‘Big Sam’ for his physical stature, standing at 6 foot 3, as well as his ‘large, cartoonish personality’, Sam Allardyce is a former professional football player and manager.

Gaining nearly 500 appearances, Sam played for teams such as Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion before managing both Premier League teams and the national squad (notably for one match before Gareth Southgate took charge).

While Sam was playing in the youth team at Bolton Wanderers from 1969 to 1971, he met his wife Lynne Ward and the pair tied the knot in June, 1974.

Almost 50 years later, Sam and Lynne share two children namely Craig and Rachael and owned a luxury £3.5 million home in Spain before relocating back to the UK full-time.

During his football career, in both playing and managerial roles, Sam had an estimated net worth of £10 million, which has now been supported by his various business endeavours including a fast-food restaurant, a piano bar, a motor spares company and a pub to name a few.

Sam also highlighted his journey from his debut at the age of 14 to his managerial career in the 2015 autobiography ‘Big Sam’.
