When are Lufthansa cabin crew striking following major airline’s two-day pilot strike?
A strike by Lufthansa pilots is taking place on Tuesday April 14.
The pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) has announced a strike at Lufthansa (LH) and Lufthansa CityLine (CL) for yesterday (Monday, 13 April) and today (Tuesday, 14 April 2026). Lufthansa passengers have taken to the company’s Instagram to voice their concerns.
One wrote: “The very worst Customer Service. Flight cancelled and rebooked for 3 days later, that flight cancelled and rebooked with British Airways but no tickets issued by Lufthansa so we had to pay for the fare ourselves. We are now delayed 5 days for a flight! No telephone help available, No response to emails or messages, no staff at airports, SENTOR status means nothing either!”
Another passenger said: “Why is it so difficult to reach out to you for help. My flight was cancelled and rebooked to a different location and I need help urgently. Elisa is unable to help this time, I've called the UK customer service line several times and the number is forever busy. I called the German line, it says I should use digital service. This is not nice, are you aware of how this type of situation wastes time and affects someone's mental health😢. Lufthansa why 😭😭😭😭😭. I feel so frustrated.”
One other passenger said: “My flight has just been cancelled - rebooking via Elisa failing continuously, request agent not possible and failing, no one answering the "24/7" local number. Germany main centre loops back to Elisa - which isn't working. Literally cannot contact anyone or get anywhere with your AI bot because it's failing. Also messaged via social media - no response.

“100 years and a customer can't contact anyone after YOU cancel a flight due to your staff striking.
“Is this German efficiency?”

A press release on the Lufthansa group’s website reads: “The cabin crew union UFO has announced a strike at Lufthansa (LH) and Lufthansa CityLine (CL) at short notice for Wednesday, 15 April and Thursday, 16 April 2026.
“Lufthansa is working intensively to keep the impact on passengers as low as possible. We are trying to have as many flights as possible operated by other airlines within the Lufthansa Group and by partner airlines.
“However, despite these efforts, flight cancellations are unavoidable. These cancellations will be loaded into the booking systems by Tuesday morning, 14 April 2026 (CET) at the latest.
“Please note: Flights operated by Austrian Airlines (OS), Brussels Airlines (SN), Eurowings (EW), SWISS (LX), Air Dolomiti (EN), Discover Airlines (4Y), Edelweiss (WK) and Lufthansa City Airlines (VL) will not be affected by the strike.
“Travelers who are affected by an irregularity will be informed accordingly, provided their contact details are stored in the booking.
“We ask passengers to check the status of their flight before setting out on their journey.”
