

The 2021 Brit Awards nominations have been announced, with Joel Corry and Young T and Bugsey among those nominated for several gongs.
The nominations were announced by presenter Nick Grimshaw and Brit’s rising star 2021 award winner Griff, at 4pm on 31 March on Twitter.

When is the Brit Awards 2021?
The Brit Awards will take place live at the London O2 on 11 May – MasterCard is the headline sponsor.
Grimshaw told viewers of the nominations Live stream: “Live music is coming back with a bang and we are ready.”
He added: “You would be mad to miss the Brit Awards,” after joking to co-host Griff, Jessie Ware, Celeste and Arlo Parks that he hadn’t had conversation with more than four people at any one time for more than a year.
How are the winners decided?

The winners and nominees are determined by the Brit Awards voting academy with over 1,000 members.
The members are made up of record labels, publishers, managers, agents, media, and previous winners and nominees.
The academy shortlist from performers who have released music in the past year, then cast votes again to determine a winner for each category.
Will the Brit awards be shown on TV?
The award ceremony will be broadcast live on 11 May by ITV, and viewers will be able to watch it on demand afterwards on the ITV hub.
