Brits set to shake up musical choices at Glastonbury 2025

As Glastonbury festival kicks off this week, Brits are set to mix up their music tastes up rather than sticking to the classics.

As music fans descend on Glastonbury this weekend, many are set to catch acts from a range of different genres as it’s revealed almost three-quarters of Brits (71%) are genre-curious when it comes to music taste.

Research from the no-compromise chocolate and biscuit bar, Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff, has found that it’s the younger generations leading the way when it comes to this mixed musical approach.

Almost 8 in 10 Gen-Zs say they prefer listening to genre-blended music like pop-rock or country-pop, rather than sticking to just one style, more than Boomers (63%), Millennials (77%) and Generation X (70%).

Elsewhere when it comes to the nation's musical tastes, research has found that the average adult listens to 4.3 different genres on a regular basis, rising to 4.7 for those aged between 25 and 34.

Furthermore, this non-confirmist approach doesn’t stop with music, with 41% of the UK proudly identifying as a “bothist”, someone who embraces the right not to choose.

This comes as Cadbury Dairy Milk Biscoff, with its delicious combo of smooth chocolate and caramelised biscuit, confirms that more than 4 in 5 (84%) Brits are turning their backs on making hard choices. Instead, embracing the idea of having it both ways.

So as Glastonbury gets set to celebrate a joyful mix of genres, generations and good vibes, it’s clear that being a “bothist” is the real headline act this summer.
