Davis confirmed on Twitter that Lindsay would be replacing him - but is this a permanent change and why is he absent from the show? This is what you need to know.

Why is Warwick not on Tenable?

Davis said on Twitter he will be replaced by Lindsay for “a run of shows” as he focuses on other lines of work.

It has been reported that he is currently shooting the Netflix series Willow, an adaptation of the movie by the same which he starred in, in 1988.

The dark fantasy movie will be made for television, it was announced in 2020.

Davis previously told RadioTimes the series has been in the pipeline for over two years, and he felt relieved when it was finally announced.

Having starred in the original movie, he said of the series: “It’s something which I never thought I would see happen.”

What did he say about Lindsay replacing him?

Despite fans Tweeting about their disappointment at Davis not hosting the 3pm show on Monday (12 April), he had given them forewarning.

Davis told viewers to expect the show to have “a touch more glamour!” as he announced on Twitter that Lindsay would be stepping in to hosting duties.

He tweeted: "When you tune in to @Tenable at 3pm on @itv today, you'll notice I look a lot like the fabulous @sally_lindsay," he began. "Sally is stepping into my hosting shoes for a run of shows while I'm in pre-production for another project.

"With this change, You can be assured of 2 things - the jokes won't be as bad and the show will have a touch more glamour! Thanks for your continued support. Cheers! Break a leg Sally! X"

How did fans react?

Initial tweets asked “Where’s Warwick?!!..” while others seemed slightly confused, commenting: “Well Warwick looks different on Tenable…”

Others welcomed Lindsay, with one fan Tweeting: “Not only is my favourite quiz show #tenable back today, it's now being presented by one of my favourite actresses.”
