Mare of Easttown follows detective Mare Sheehan who, still dealing with the case of a missing girl hanging over her career, is tasked with investigating a murder when a dead body turns up in the local creek. Working with the county detective, the two attempt to solve the sinister case that has shaken their tight knit community.

On top of juggling her professional life, Mare’s personal life is crumbling following her recent divorce.

The series will explore the dark side of a close community, and an examination of how tragedies from our past can define our present.

The show was created by Brad Ingelsby, who is known better for writing Run All Night and The Way Back. The show director is Craig Zobel, who has directed episodes of Westworld, American God and The Leftovers, as well as feature film The Hunt, starring Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank and Emma Roberts.
