The UK is facing the worst cost of living crisis in more than 40 years and inflation has reached an all-time high – so is anything actually dropping in price for shoppers?
Prices are going up by an average of 9.4% year-on-year, according to latest inflation figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
And it’s bad news for the summer holidays as garden furniture, air conditioners, campsites and even ice cream have all got more expensive in the past year, according to the latest Consumer Prices Index (CPI) figures published by the ONS.

The CPI figures show only a handful of goods and services actually dropped in price in the year to June, with just 6% of all goods and services getting cheaper. In total just 17 out of 278 types of goods and services dropped in price.
