Is Barry Gibb going on tour in 2026? Bee Gees star supposedly announces last ever concert dates - but is it what it seems?

The only surviving member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, has supposedly announced one last tour in memory of his late brothers and bandmates Maurice and Robin.

The Bee Gees were a chart-topping music group throughout the 1960s and 1970s and are best known for hits such as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever and You Should Be Dancing.

The Bee Gees first split in late 1969 when Robin Gibb left, though the group briefly reunited in 1970. The band did still sometimes perform together in the years that followed, but they stopped performing after Maurice Gibb died in 2003. The name of the group was then retired when Robin Gibb died almost 10 years later in 2012.

But fans have been given a glimmer of hope that they may be able to see the last surviving member of the Bee Gees, 78-year-old Barry Gibb, perform one last time. A Facebook post has claimed that the star is taking to the stage one last time in honour of his late brothers with a 2026 tour.

The post, which was posted on a Facebook page called Rock and Roll Universe earlier today (Tuesday August 12) read: “In an emotional and powerful announcement, Barry Gibb, the heart and soul of the Bee Gees, has revealed his upcoming 2026 tour, ‘One Last Ride,’ a final tribute to the music and legacy of the Bee Gees.

"ONE LAST TIME, I WILL SING FOR MY BROTHERS…" he shared, his voice thick with emotion as he spoke of the loss of his beloved brothers and the profound impact their music continues to have on the world. With tears in his eyes, Barry has promised an unforgettable tour that will breathe new life into the Bee Gees' timeless classics.

"This isn’t just a tour; it’s a celebration of their memory and everything we created together," he said, determined to honor his brothers' legacy through the power of song. The ‘One Last Ride’ tour is set to ignite audiences across the globe, delivering the heart-pounding, soul-stirring performances that defined the Bee Gees' incredible career. The dates and cities are now revealed, and fans are preparing for the emotional revival of one of the most iconic musical legacies in history.

But, this is not true at all. The hopes of fans will be dashed as there is no Barry Gibb tour planned.

Bizarrely, just hours before this tour announcement another post was also uploaded to the page which claimed Barry Gibb was poorly in hospital. Alongside an image, which appears to show the musician in a hospital bed with his leg in a cast, there is a statement that reads: “ With a trembling voice and eyes filled with gratitude, Barry Gibb, the iconic frontman of the Bee Gees, broke his silence, offering fans a heartfelt health update that left everyone in tears.

“I’m still here… but I’m holding on by a thread,” he confessed, his vulnerability and strength on full display as he spoke about his recent surgery and the battles he's been facing. For a man whose music has touched millions, this raw and emotional moment revealed a side of Barry that fans have rarely seen—a man in pain, but one whose spirit remains unshaken.

"I still have a long road ahead… but I believe in healing — through love, through music, and through the prayers of all of you," he continued, his words filled with a quiet determination. The pain is undeniable, and the fight is far from over, but Barry's heart and soul remain as strong as ever.

The image, like all others on the page, is a fake created by AI. Barry Gibb is not ill in hospital. It’s not known who is behind the page, or why they are creating the fake images and sharing fake stories. But, it currently has 86,000 followers.

The fake Barry Gibb tour news has also been shared by another Facebook page, Antonio Vivaldi, which appears to also share fake news about musicians. On this page, there is also a link to a completely untrue news story which claims the dates have also been announced for the tour and includes venues in London, Sydney, Los Angeles and Paris.

On Friday (August 8), NationalWorld debunked the rumour that Phil Collins was ill in hospital after the same page shared an image of the singer supposedly in a hospital bed - and coincidentally with a then apparently well McCartney supposedly visiting him in hospital. Yesterday (Monday August 11), we also debunked the post on the page about the alleged funeral of Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

Earlier today, we also debunked a rumour on the page that another legendary singer - Paul McCartney - had cancelled his tour due to being hospitalised with ill health.

NationalWorld has reported both the Rock and Roll Universe and Antonio Vivaldi Facebook pages.
