Ray J: Singer, aged 45, allegedly performs with blood coming from his eyes after claiming he won't live beyond 2027
A 45-year-old singer has supposedly performed with blood coming out of his eyes, while also allegedly wearing a heart monitor, after telling fans he has just months to live.
R&B singer Ray J took to the stage at a Valentine’s Day Concert in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday (February 14) when fans noticed some very concerning things about his health.
In videos which now gone viral on social media, the star was wearing sunglasses but appeared to have a drop of blood rolling down his cheek. It was unclear, however, whether it was real blood, if he had an injury or if it was a stage effect.
Later during the performance, Raj J unzipped the top of his jumpsuit to reveal his torso - and what appeared to be a medical dressing on the upper left side of his chest. Some fas have speculated that this may be where he recently had a heart monitor or another cardiac-related device fitted.
It comes after Ray J, real name William Raymond Norwood Jr, gave an update on his health in January in which he said he “almost died.” “My heart is only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right, so thank you for all your prayers,” he explained.
He had also been suffering yet another health scare earlier that month. A source close to the singer told TMZ on January 7 that after experiencing “heart pains,” the “Love & Hip Hop” personality was admitted to a hospital with a severe case of pneumonia, where doctors ordered an echocardiogram and X-rays.
The outlet previously reported in October 2021 that the “One Wish” hitmaker had been hospitalized in Miami with the same illness. In another social media clip posted on Tuesday night the singer predicted he only has a year to live.
“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” he stated, in a video clip shared to social media Tuesday night. “That’s what they say.” As a friend in the video protested, “Don’t say that… f**k the doctor,” Ray shook his head and put his face in his hands.
The singer then gave a shoutout to his parents, who he said were taking him for a medical checkup the next day, and also to sister, R&B star Brandy, whom he said “paid my bills for me for the rest of the year.”
Ray J’s health emergency comes amid ongoing personal struggles, including his divorce from Princess Love. The couple, who share 7-year-old daughter Melody and 5-year-old son Epik, announced their latest separation in 2024 after having a previous divorce filing dismissed by the court.
Ray J previously dated Kim Kardashian in the early 2000s, but their relationship became infamous after their 2007 sex tape leaked, catapulting Kardashian to global fame and launching the Keeping Up With The Kardashians brand. Their history includes ongoing disputes over the tape, with recent lawsuits involving defamation and alleged breach of contract from both sides, and public comments from Ray J about their past.
