Everything we know about Brad Pitt’s new Formula One Racing movie after he was seen filming at the Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix was held at Silverstone on Sunday and many fans of Formula One may have been confused after spotting Brad Pitt in racing overalls. No, the actor hasn’t decided on a new career path but was in fact filming for his new movie.
Brad was among the celebrities enjoying the Grand Prix but unlike Cara Delevingne, Florence Pugh and Liam Payne who were just spectators Brad was actually busy working. The Hollywood actor is set to star in a new racing car movie alongside British actor Damson Idris. Here is everything we know so far.

Hide AdThe movie which currently has no name but rumours suggest will be called Apex, follows retired racing driver Sonny who comes out of retirement to help mentor a team of younger drivers. It’s directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, both of which directed and wrote Top Gun: Maverick.
Brad will play Sonny Hayes and Damson who is best known for his role as ‘Franklin Saint’ in the TV series ‘Snowfall’ will play ‘Joshua Pearce’. Spanish actor Javier Bardem, British actor Tobias Menzies and Irish actress Kerry Condon will also feature in the film.
Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton is involved in the project to help keep the realism of the film. The film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Brad’s production company Plan B Entertainment and the Mercedes driver Lewis. Apple TV and Formula One recently revealed the first images of the fictional team APXGP’s racing car.
Speaking to Sky News reporter Martin Brundle after his first lap at Silverstone, Brad said: “It’s great to be here. Having such a laugh; time of my life,”

Hide AdLewis, who previously confirmed he wouldn't be in the film himself, also told reporters: “We want everyone to love it and to really feel that we encapsulate what the essence of this sport is all about.”
As filming began at the British Grand Prix over the weekend and will continue filming until the end of the year. We expect the film to be released in 2024/2025.
