Next James Bond theme song could come from legendary UK band after blockbuster world tour

One of the biggest bands in the UK have been linked to the next James Bond film, a tabloid paper has claimed.

Amazon MGM Studios, which has acquired total creative control of the James Bond franchise, is reportedly drawing up a wishlist of musicians who could do the next theme song.

It’s an honour reserved for only the biggest and best stars in the music industry, with artists following in the footsteps of Shirley Bassey, Madonna and Tom Jones.

The tabloid reported that Amazon want Oasis to produce the theme song for their first Bond outing, which already has a few key pieces in place; Denis Villeneuve will be directing the film, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing.

Noel Gallagher is a huge fan of the franchise, and claimed to have already written a couple of theme tunes in his free time.

He said: “It’s a p***-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of f***ing Americans.

“I’ve written a couple of Bond theme tunes. They haven’t got very Bond-esque titles, so I would have to tailor the title accordingly.”

The most recent film, No Time To Die, saw American artist Billie Eilish write the theme song, and rumours have been circulating about someone like Sabrina Carpenter or Chris Stapleton taking on music duties for the next 007 project.

As for Bond himself, Daniel Craig’s replacement is yet to be cast - although there is plenty of speculation on that front too.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is still considered to be the favourite for the role, although stars like Paul Mescal and James Norton are also thought to be in the running.
