Does The Batman have a post credit scene? Riddles on Rataalada website explained - and how to solve them

After facing continuous delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, the highly anticipated reboot of The Batman starring British actor Robert Pattinson as a vengeful Bruce Wayne arrived in cinemas on 4 March 2022.

The Warner Bros and DC Comics film directed by Matt Reeves features a new cast of villains, and there is even a mysterious riddle for fans to solve after the credits roll.

Although it isn’t post-credit per se, it is something for diehard fans to stick around for.

Here is everything you need to know about it.

What happens in the mysterious scene?

While there’s no actual footage during the end credits scene in The Batman, if you stick around long enough, you will see The Riddler’s recognisable question mark cursor begin to blink and green text flash on the screen saying “Goodbye.”

The Riddler’s website URL www.rataalada.com, which was set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign then pops up onscreen at the very end of the credits.

The site was part of the movie’s augmented reality game and was discovered by fans who deciphered hidden messages in the movie’s posters and trailers, eventually leading them to the rataalada website.

Since the film’s release, the site has been updated with new riddles and a new Easter egg.

How do I solve the riddles and what comes next?

The Riddler types: “‘Three correct answers and the truth will be exposed. Let’s get started.”

One riddle is: “What was new, is new again. Rebirth. Restoration. Reformation. The answer is Renewal.”

Another riddle is: “I am first a fraud or a trick. Or perhaps a blend of the two. That’s up to your misinterpretation.” The answer is Confusion.

And a third riddle is: “Fear he who hides behind one.” The answer is Mask.

After this, The Riddler types: “Let’s see what your hard work has revealed. [Click for reward].”

When you click on the hyperlink, a zip file labelled “What Am I?” downloads. To open the zip you need to enter the password: “promise”.

Answering all the riddles correctly will grant you a 30-second clip of Bruce’s late father, Thomas Wayne, during his mayoral campaign advert, as seen previously in The Batman.

What happens in The Batman?

When a killer targets Gotham’s elite, a trail of cryptic clues leads Caped Crusader Batman straight to the riddler.

He uncovers corruption that connects to his own family during the investigation and is forced to make new allies to catch the Riddler and bring the corrupt to justice.
