When are the BAFTA Film Awards 2026? How to watch live as major award ceremony takes place this weekend
Hollywood’s biggest stars will descend on London this weekend as the annual BAFTA Film Awards take place.
The 2026 ceremony will be held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall this Sunday, with the biggest and best films of the past 12 months set to be celebrated.
Find out everything you need to know about the ceremony below.

When are The EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026?
The EE BAFTA Film Awards will take place at Royal Festival Hall on Sunday, February 22.
UK-based film fans will be able to watch the ceremony on the BBC. The ceremony will be broadcast at 7pm on Sunday, February 22 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Red carpet coverage will be broadcast live on the BAFTA YouTube channel, with a livestream set to begin at 2.30pm. BBC Radio 1 stars Clara Amfo and Ali Plumb will present the red carpet coverage.
Who is hosting The EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026?
Actor Alan Cumming is presenting this year’s ceremony. He takes over from David Tennant, who presented the past two editions of the ceremony. Alan, a BAFTA Award winner himself, also previously hosted the BAFTA TV Awards in 2025.

The Traitors US star has already spoken about his plans for the ceremony, promising stars that he “won’t be too mean” as he presents the ceremony.
Alan said: “I’m pretty excited but also daunted – it’s like I’m going to be in a play, but I don’t know the script yet. I have done things like this before, although I guess the film awards will be more international.
“I know I’ve got to strike that balance between celebration and mischief, but I won’t be too satirical or mean because we’re there to celebrate people’s achievements. I can get away with more than most people would because I’m mischievous and a bit cute, so that lets me be a little more biting or provocative without scaring people away.”
There will also be special performances during the BAFTA Film Awards 2026 from KPop Demon Hunters stars Huntrix - Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami - and Jessie Ware. Huntrix will be performing their first live performance outside of the US as they bring their hit song ‘Golden’ to the BAFTA Stage.
Jessie Ware will perform during the In Memoriam section of the show. Details of the exclusive performance are being kept under wraps, but the British singer-songwriter will take one one of Barbara Streisand’s most “beloved” songs.
