EA Sports has released its FIFA 22 Team of the Year (TOTY).

No fewer than 80 players were nominated at the FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) event in 2022 as the game’s loyal legion of users voted in players to the squad and final X1.

There are often many Premier League representatives in the mix from the EPL’s top performing clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, neighbours United, Chelsea, Arsenal and more.

Europe’s elite tend to be among the nominations, with Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham likely inclusions in 2022.

More than 10 million votes helped to decide the final XI - a definitive list of the world’s best players - from the FIFA gaming community.

EA Sports released a 70 player strong nominations list for users to pick from and vote their favoured squads before the final team was announced.

Special TOTY player items featuring some of the highest ratings of the season were released from 22 January to celebrate each player’s incredible performances.
