Are we about to witness the start of the Britney-ssance? That seems to be the feeling given the hype that is surrounding the former Princess of Pop, as Britney Spears collaborates with Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am for their new single - the aptly titled “Mind Your Business,” which is available now through all digital and streaming music services.
It marks the second time that the duo have worked together on a track and more than a decade since they last collaborated; that was 2012’s “Scream & Shout,” which peaked at the top of the UK Top 40 chart and, as the figures provided by Kworb are correct, we could see her placing rather high this week in the singles chart.

Hide AdFigures this morning while we were looking at the numbers for another chart hopefully, BTS’ Jungkook, showed that already Spears is top of both the UK and Ireland iTunes charts upon its debut, and strong positions in both the Australian and US iTunes charts also. The interest has also seen an increase in streams for some of Britney’s other works - notably, her first collaboration with will.i.am that topped the charts 11 years ago.
If the single were to chart within the top 10 in the UK, it would mark the second collaboration in the last two years to achieve that feat, coming after her “Hold Me Close” duet with Sir Elton John last year, which reached number three in the UK singles chart in 2022. It also prompted a portion of Glastonbury goers to complain she wasn’t one of John’s secret guests during his performance.
But it has been a longer wait for Britney Spears to enter the UK singles chart as a solo performer, as PeopleWorld discovered when looking through her long and storied single discography
When did Britney Spears last enter the UK Top 10?
Despite some success around her 2016 album, “Glory,” the singles from that record did not chart anywhere near the same success that Spears’ previous singles. Of the five singles lifted from that record, only one made a mark on the UK singles chart; “Make Me,” featuring G-Eazy, which peaked at number 42.

Hide AdTo find Britney’s last UK chart success in terms of single releases, we would have to venture back an entire decade ago to 2013, during the release of her eight studio album, “Britney Jean,” and the lead single “Work Bitch.” That electroclash track, produced by will.i.am after their success the previous year, reached number seven in the UK single chart and prompted the first call that the pop star was about to have a career resurgence.
But alas, the acrimony regarding Britney Spears then conservatorship and long running rumours about the fragility of her mental health waylaid any potential comeback - maybe this time now, the once again empowered Spears might be on course to break into the UK Top 10 once again?
