Miley Cyrus is all about female empowerment while Michelle Yeoh is in hot water over potential ‘rule break’

Although International Women’s Day wasn’t celebrated when I was growing up, I never for one moment felt I couldn’t achieve anything I wanted to. This was not necessarily to do with going to an all-girls school but was more from having a mother who became a criminal barrister at a time when there were far fewer females in the profession than men.

Here at PeopleWorld, we are always celebrating influential women, but it seems even more appropriate today on International Women’s Day.

Miley Cyrus and in particular her single ‘Flowers’ is all about self-love and empowering women which is one of the reasons why she is at the top of our hot list today.

Ahead of her latest album being released this Friday and a possible launch party for it taking place today, Miley continues to be hot news in 2023. 

From one empowering woman to another. Alicia Keys is also on PeopleWorld’s hot list today. To celebrate International Women’s Day, Alicia has teamed up with global DJ The Blessed Madonna and Spotify UK and Ireland on the EQUAL playlist. An ambassador for the Spotify EQUAL programme said: “Invest in women. That’s the message, Invest in women’s music. Invest in women's use of technology. This is what I want to see.”

I couldn’t agree more with these words and I am sure both men and women will agree that this is what we all want to see!

The last star on our all-female list today is Hailey Bieber. Although she has been involved in the Selena Gomez drama recently, one cannot take away Hailey’s incredible achievements so far. Not only did she land a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list last year, but her influence cannot be underestimated.

From her TikTok ‘I’m Cold’ makeup trend (that was all about dewy skin and basically glazed everything makeup look) to the latest beauty look she is showcasing, a buttercup yellow manicure, Hailey is ahead of the curve when it comes to pretty much everything!

So, who are the stars on PeopleWorld’s hot list today?

First up is Michelle Yeoh. We look at whether the actress might be in hot water over Academy rules. She shared an excerpt from an article to her Instagram account, which has been subsequently deleted. The post is said to have broken Rule 11 of the Academy’s Rules and Regulations. 

Next up is Gary Lineker. According to the BBC “Lineker was being ‘spoken to’ about his responsibilities.” This comes after the Match of the Day host tweeted about the government’s asylum policy and said the plan was “not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s.”

The final star on PeopleWorld’s not-so-hot list is Bam Margera who has reportedly been arrested after allegedly kicking a woman.
