After claims she is dating Matty Healy, what is it about London boys that Taylor Swift can't get enough of?

Taylor Swift dating Matty Healy was not on our 2023 Bingo card and are reportedly about to go public with their relationship. 

The Anti-Hero singer has only recently split from actor Joe Alwyn after six years, but appears to have quickly moved on to another London boy, lead singer of The 1975, Matty Healy. 

According to The Sun, the hot new couple are ready to go public with their relationship this weekend when she performs in Nashville. Taylor moved to Nashville to pursue her career at the age of 14, so announcing her new relationship in a place she calls home seems perfectly fitting. 

The pair were rumoured to have briefly dated over 10 years ago but it allegedly didn't work out. 

A source explained “She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out.”

“Taylor and Joe actually split up back in February, so there was absolutely no crossover.”

“Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of Face-Timing and texting but she cannot wait to see him again.”

Taylor has dated a few high profile British celebrities, including Harry Styles and Calvin Harris, but it seems she definitely has a thing for a London boy. The singer clearly loves a ‘London Boy,’ so much she wrote a song about it on her 2019 album Lover, but that was actually about ex-boyfriend Joe.

However Matty wrote a song the song 'She's American' in 2016 which was written as an ode to a girl across the Atlantic, could it be about Taylor?

But what is it with Tay Swift's obsession with all things British including the men?

Matty Healy, lead singer of The 1975 is a bit more of a bad boy compared to her usual London boy type. The rockstar is often on our ‘Not’s list for his bad behaviour and controversial outbursts. 

The frontman of the band was born in Hendon, London and is the son of actor Tim Healy and Loose Woman panellist Denise Welch. Matty grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne before moving to Cheshire at he age of nine. He went to a private school but got kicked out for starting fights, he moved over to Wilmslow High School where he met the rest of the 1975 band members.

Joe Alwyn was a bit more of a typical London boy. He was brought up in Tufnell Park, North London and went to City of London School, a private school for boys. 

He is often spotted looking smart in a tie and suit, a worlds away from Matt’s T-shirt and jeans indie grunge style. 

Then of course there’s Tom Hiddleston who Taylor famously dated in 2016. The actor is the epitome of London boy and previously rumoured to be the next James Bond, I mean what's more English than James Bond?

Tom also went to the prestigious Eton College. Past pupils include Prince William, Prince Harry and Eddie Redmayne. The Loki actor always looks sharp in his suits and even on a dress down day, he still looks dapper. 

So whether it’s a private school boy, the exquisite English style or just the accent. Taylor clearly loves a London Boy the question is, is Matty the one?
