RuPaul’s Drag Race UK versus World cast: who stars in BBC Three show with Jimbo and Lemon and when is it on TV

A new international series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is coming to BBC Three next month.

It’s set to pit fan favourites from the UK against winners from other versions of the show around the world.

Here’s everything you need to know about RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World.

What is it about?

Nine different contestants – from the UK, the US, Canada, Holland and Thailand – will assemble to battle to be crowned the first ever Drag Race Global Superstar.

Who is in it?

Baga Chipz (UK)

Baga Chipz came in third place in the first series of Drag Race UK.

On returning, Baga Chipz said “I’m not nervous. The most famous woman is here to slay. I’m not just Drag Race famous, I’m tabloid famous – do you know what I mean? I don’t normally work with civilian folk. But do you know what… let’s give these girls a run for their money!”

Blu Hydrangea (UK)

Blu Hydrangea came fifth in the first series of Drag Race UK.

On returning, Blu Hydrangea said “I’m ready to make it to the top. I deserve to reign supreme. When I walked into season one, I said let’s paint the town blue. Well how about we paint the world blue!”

Cheryl Hole (UK)

Cheryl Hole came fourth in the first series of Drag Race UK.

On returning, Cheryl Hole said “YES! I am the one to beat! And I’m ready to show that I’m not mediocre anymore! This is the queen of the huns right here. I’m gonna have all the badges. I’m gonna be walking sideways because it’s so heavy because I’ve got all the badges… and I’ll be QUEEN OF THE WORLD!”

Janey Jacké (Holland)

Janey Jacké was the runner-up in the first series of Drag Race Holland.

On returning, Janey Jacké said “I’m going to approach it with a lot of fire… they think I’m just a pretty girl. But I want to break the stereotypes of what people think of the Netherlands. I’ve got it all! I’ve got the performances, I got jokes, I got everything in this package!”

Jimbo (Canada)

Jimbo came in fourth place in the first series of Drag Race Canada.

On returning, Jimbo said “I was the robbed queen from Canada’s Drag Race season one. But I’ve moved on… and I’m here to rob someone else now. Let’s do this!”

Lemon (Canada)

Lemon placed fifth in the first series of Drag Race Canada.

“Canada has some of the fiercest queens in the world and I’m here to prove it,” said Lemon. “On my season, I came in as a dancing queen diva and I ended up dominating in these comedy challenges. So I don’t know if you’ll remember me as a dancer or a funny gal… but guess what? I’m all of the above.”

Pangina Heals (Thailand)

Pangina appeared in the first two seasons of Drag Race Thailand, and has subsequently hosted that version of the show.

Pangina said “I’m not going to play. I’m here to slay. And I’m going to kill the competition. I’m also brutally honest and that’s how I live my life. If someone crosses me, then they no longer exist…. I’m afraid, I’m gonna have to say goodbye to you!”

Jujubee (US)

Jujubee has appeared on Drag Race US a number of times, coming third in US series 3, and fourth and later second in different seasons of Drag Race US All Stars.

On returning for the fourth time, Jujubee said “There’s no way that I’m NOT getting to the top every single time. I am a pro at this competition. These girls can learn something from me! Ru might as well just give me the crown now! I’ll buy a farm, have a whole bunch of chickens and cats - I won’t bother her anymore!”

Mo Heart (US)

Mo Heart came eighth in Drag Race US series 10, but later returned and was the runner-up in Drag Race US All Stars season 4.

Mo said “I’m not going home. I’m gonna tell the other queens, “We thank you for your sacrifice – for getting chopped, may the odds forever be in MY favour. Thank you!””

The Judges

Judging the competition will be host RuPaul and Michelle Visage, as well as Graham Norton and Matt Lucas.

Guest judges will include Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, Spice Girl Mel C, Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo, This Country’s Daisy May Cooper, and Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe.

How can I watch it?

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World is going to be a key part of BBC Three’s return to terrestrial television.

The series will begin on Tuesday 1 February, when BBC Three launches as an actual channel again.

A specific time hasn’t been announced yet, though BBC Three will begin broadcasting at 7pm. The BBC Three launch night also promises “a rich content mix of drama, comedy, entertainment, documentaries, news and sport”.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World will also be available on BBC iPlayer after each episode airs.
