East London drama series Top Boy is back for a fourth season on Netflix.

Dushane Hill (Ashley Walters) is back on the crime-riddled housing estate, Summerhous, creating more drama.

But how can you catch up on previous seasons - and how many are there? This is what you need to know.

How many seasons of Top Boy are there?

There are four seasons of Top Boy.

Season 1 and 2 ran on Channel 4 from 2011 to 2013.

However, Netflix revived seasons 3 and 4, so they rebranded the first two seasons from the Channel 4 days as Top Boy: Summerhouse.

This means that season 3 (2019) and season 4 (2022) are labelled as Top Boy seasons 1 and 2 respectively on Netflix.

Where can I watch Top Boy?

Top Boy season 2 (the fourth season) will join season 1 on Netflix, from Friday 18 March.

Both seasons of Top Boy: Summerhouse are also available to watch on Netflix - two seasons with four episodes in each.

Who is in the cast of Top Boy with Ashley Walters?

Ashley Walters has played the role of ‘Top Boy’, Dushane Hill, for all four seasons.

Walters is a rapper, songwriter and actor, who has appeared in British shows such as Grange Hill, The Bill, Holby City, Doctor Who and Silent Witness.

Also returning for a fourth season is Kane Robinson as Gerald Sullivan - known as Sully.

Robinson, who is better known as Kano, is also a rapper, songwriter and actor. He is widely considered one of the pioneers of grime music and culture.

Jamie (Micheal Ward), Aaron (Hope Ikpoku Jr) and Stefan (Araloyin Oshunremi) - the three Tovell brothers - who you first saw in the third series, after Jamie took over the ZT gang, are back.

Ward was awarded the 2020 BAFTA Rising Star Award.

Also back is Amma Ayittey (Jolade Obasola), Kit (Kadeem Ramsay), Lizzie (Lisa Dwan), Jaq (Jasmine Jobson) and Shelley (Simbiatu Ajikawo).

New main characters are Becks (Adwoa Aboah), Mandy (NoLay) and Pebbles (Erin Kellyman).

What is Top Boy about?

The British crime drama follows the tension between drug gangs in Summerhouse - a Hackney housing estate.

Hill is determined to become the “Top Boy”, in the crime-riddled area, alongside Sully.

There are deaths, murders, drug deals, supply steals and arrests throughout.

The fourth season follows the characters as they deal with their growing empires, friendships and alliances.
