After a gruelling two weeks, the celebrities’ time as fugitives finally came to a dramatic end.

What is Channel 4’s Hunted about?

The Channel 4  hit show Hunted started back in 2015.

It follows a group of celebrity contestants that have to go on the run for 14 days and avoid capture from the Hunters - a team of elite athletes, police and intelligence personnel.

They are given £250 and are allowed to take anything with them that they can physically carry.

They must stay within the UK for the entire duration of the show.

It’s  not easy to complete the task, as the Hunters have CCTV and call tracing on their side.

If any of the contestants manage to complete the 14 days as a fugitive, they win a share of £100,000.

Celebrity Hunted is a spin off from the original show and started in 2017.

There have been four seasons so far with notable celebrities such as Anneka Rice, Kay Burley, Stanley Johnson, Georgia Toffolo and Martin Offiah taking part.

What happened in series four of Celebrity Hunted?

This season starred Made in Chelsea duo Ollie and Gareth Locke alongside Holby City Actress Chizzy Akudolu, drag queen The Vivienne, reality TV star Chloe Veitch (Too Hot Too Handle), sprinter Iwan Thomas, paralympian Richard Whitehead and singer Lisa Maffia.

This season was dedicated to Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer campaign - the contestants signed up to the show to fundraise for the charity.

This season saw the celebrities hiding across the country from Warrington to Sheffield.

Celebrities hitchhiked, walked and drove to locations that they thought would keep them shielded from the Hunters.

The first pair to be captured by the Hunters were Ollie and Gareth who were foiled after a taxi driver who gave them a lift blabbed about their location.

The Hunters did a great job this season as the team of 30 professionals took down all but one of the celebrities.

Who won Celebrity Hunted 2022?

The dramatic final episode on Sunday 6 March saw the remaining celebrities fight to get to the extraction point where their experience as a fugitive would end.

Iwan Thomas was the only celebrity to complete the task and was crowned winner of the season.

Ian wrote on his Instagram: “Thanks for watching…it’s been emotional.”

“The biggest thing I will take away from this adventure is the true kindness of the British public there’s some good people out there.”

The 48-year-old is known for his athletics career in which he competed as a sprinter in the 1996 Olympics.

Thomas holds the current UK 400m record with a run time of 44.36 seconds.

Celebrity Hunted is not Ian’s first experience with television as he has been a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Masterchef and has been a presenter at the Paralympic Games in 2016.
