Based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling series of novels and adapted for television by Rafe Judkins, The Wheel Of Time is a fantastical adventure set in a world where magic exists and certain women are allowed to harness its power.
As a member of the influential all-female organisation Aes Sedai, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) is one of the chosen few and she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers to begin a quest that will either save or destroy humanity.

Her companions are five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the fabled Dragon Reborn.
But where was it filmed? And which real world location stood in for the fictional town of Two Rivers at the heart of the show?
Here is everything you need to know about it.
Where was it filmed?
Filming for The Wheel of Time began in Prague in September 2019, and is one of the biggest projects ever shot in Czech Republic.
As with many other major productions that began their shooting schedules around that time, things were put on hold in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Filming resumed in April 2021, and wrapped up just a month later.
A mill called Dolský mlýn in the north-west of the country was used for some scenes, while a studio was also built in Prague’s Letňany district.
The fictional town of Two Rivers was built in a quarry just outside of the city.
In addition to Prague, parts of the show were also shot in Croatia, particularly Dubrovnik – which was also used as a location in Game of Thrones.

The Bovec region of Slovenia was also used for mountain scenes.
Will there be a Season 2?
Whether it becomes the new Game of Thrones - as Amazon clearly hopes it might - remains to be seen, but a second series has already been commissioned.
Filming for the second season began in earnest in July 2021, with unconfirmed rumours that Tenerife and Morocco are among the new filming locations.
When can I watch it?
The first three episodes premiered on Amazon Prime on 19 November, and further instalments are available each Friday.
