Who left Strictly last night? Who was in the dance-off? Fans say the judges made the 'wrong decision' in week 8 and call for voting change

This week, the theme of Strictly Come Dancing was icons. But, one celebrity’s performance wasn’t iconic enough and they were asked to leave the competition.

This week was the week that nobody wanted to leave as next week, in week night, the celebs are heading to Blackpool for the much anticipated Blackpool Tower performance, but someone had to go. . .

As always on the show, once all the celebs had danced a public vote opened to determine who was going through to next week and who would face the dreaded dance off. The couples in the bottom two then had to perform again in a bid to save themselves before judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke each cast a vote to decide which pair will dance again and which pair is going home.

The results were actually decided and filmed last night (Saturday November 15), shortly after the main live show had been broadcast on BBC One and also not long after the public vote closed. But, the results shown won’t be broadcast until this evening (Sunday November 16).

However, there’s a dedicated Strictly Spoiler website, where the results are always published early. So, fans don’t have to wait to find out if they don’t want to. On the website it states: “ Whilst the BBC might want you to wait to learn the results I have the information that hundreds of thousands of you crave. . . This weeks’s spoiler has come from my own mole and should be accurate.”

You won’t find any spoilers here though. NationalWorld has seen which two celebs are in the dance-off, and which one was ultimately eliminated, but is choosing not to report it.

What we will tell you is how fans have reacted to the week 8 result. Taking to X, one person said: “I expected this DO combo but not that result!” Another said: “That's shocking and so wrong!” A third person said: “Didn’t think her dance was as awful as the judges’ critique. Wow.”

Another person called for a change to the way the voting happens. “I think it's time for a change in the way voting is done. We lose talented dancers because they aren't as popular/liked instead of their dance ability. It would be better if the public had to vote on say the bottom 4 and the 2 with least votes dance off.”
