The TV show takes an alternative look at how visitors might spend 48 hours in some of the world’s most popular mini-break destinations.

The trip is led by Travel Man, and he is always joined by a famous face.

The Channel 4 series is now in its 10th series, but this is the first series to be presented by comedian and presenter Joe Lycett.

The travel programme was previously presented by fellow comedian and presenter Richard Ayoade, who hosted the show for nine series.

During that time, Ayoade explored over 40 cities including Copenhagen with Noel Fielding, Athens with Dawn French, Brussels with Lee Mack, Venice with Jo Brand and Florence with Hollywood actor Rebel Wilson.

Lycett even accompanied Ayoade on a weekend mini-break to Amsterdam.

Where has Joe Lycett already visited during series 10 of Travel Man, and who joined him?

The five episode series started with a Christmas special which aired on 27 December 2021.

During that episode, Lycett set off on his maiden voyage as Travel Man to visit Iceland for an extended 96 hours.

He was joined by comedian and 2020 Strictly Come Dancing winner Bill Bailey, and the duo enjoyed outdoor bathing, volcanoes, the northern lights and snowflake bread.

The programme returned to Channel 4 on Monday 4 April.

During the second episode, Lycett was joined by comedian James Acaster for 48 hours in the Spanish part of the Basque Country, where they visited the cities of Bilbao and San Sebastian for the price of one.

Where else will Joe Lycett and his celebrity companions visit during series 10?

The next three episodes of Travel Man: 48 Hours In will air over the next three consecutive Monday nights on Channel 4 at 8.30pm.

They will be going dog-walking, paddleboarding, and also take in a frog taxidermy museum.

The fourth episode will be shown on 18 April.

Lycett will be joined by Mo Gilligan on a Cypriot odyssey, where they devour local delicacy halloumi, ride mushroom boats, visit the salt and pepper museum and sample an exclusive 24-carat gold ice lolly.

The fifth, and final, episode will air on 25 April. Viewers will see Lycett and actress Katherine Parkinson explore Belgian city Antwerp by going head-to-head in a game of golf before they sample the local beer, have breakfast in a launderette and journey down into the subterranean tunnels.

Why was there a delay in Joe Lycett becoming Travel Man?

Joe Lycett was confirmed as the new Travel Man in July 2019. He was due to front the 10th series of the show in 2020, but this did not happen due to the coronavirus pandemic.

At the time he was confirmed as the host, Joe Lycett said he was “beyond excited to take over the brilliant, charming show that Richard [Ayoade] has nurtured”.

He added: “I’m less excited about the number of times I’m going to have to take off my shoes at Birmingham Airport.”

The final three episodes of the series will be available to watch live on TV over the next three consecutive Monday nights on Channel 4 at 8.30pm, starting on 11 April.
