The Hillsborough disaster occurred at a football match in 1989. In an attempt to ease overcrowding outside the stadium, the police opened the gates to a standing only area of the stadium; the resulting overcrowding in the stadium lead to the deaths of 97 people and the injury of 766 more.

The police subsequently blamed Liverpool fans for these deaths, feeding the press false stories of hooliganism and drunkenness.

Anne Williams’ son Kevin was amongst those who died at Hillsborough stadium, and as a result she campaigned for an official inquiry into what happened that day.

Who is involved in The Real Anne: Unfinished Business?
