The high value Premium Bonds winners have been announced for October 2021.

This month’s National Savings and Investments (NS&I) prize fund stood at more than £94 million, with more than 3.2 million prizes on offer to be won.

October’s draw has seen two lucky investors - one from South Gloucestershire and the other from Surrey - net £1 million each among the high value winners announced.

All the Premium Bonds UK winners are drawn at random by the NS&I’s Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment, nicknamed ERNIE.

This is who won big in the October 2021 Premium Bonds.

Who won the October 2021 Premium Bonds?

There are two new millionaires listed in the October 2021 NS&I Premium Bonds draw, as the high value winners were announced on Friday 1 October.

Though not named, the first £1 million winner from October’s draw came from South Gloucestershire, with the winning bond number 433SN401366.

This person bought their winning bond in January 2021 and has a £49,994 holding in Premium Bonds.

The second jackpot winner from the October 2021 Premium Bonds draw is from Surrey, with the winning bond number 436WJ503244.

They have a holding of £50,000 and they have held their winning bond since February 2021.

Have I won any September 2021 Premium Bonds prizes?

As well as two new millionaires, there are plenty of other high value winners from the October 2021 Premium Bonds draw.

No fewer than five others won £100,000:

  • 56WH678142 (Northumberland)
  • 429GV329184 (Lincolnshire)
  • 196CS398156 (Norfolk)
  • 41PP234659 (Hertfordshire)
  • 411MG396503 (West Sussex)

A further 12 won £50,000, 21 people won £25,000, 54 won £10,000, and 109 people bagged £5,000 in October’s high value Premium Bonds winners.

How can I check if I’ve won the July 2021 Premium Bonds?

Premium Bonds holders can check to see if they’ve won the Premium Bonds every month via the NS&I prize checker.

Investors  can check to see if they’ve won big on that month’s Premium Bonds by entering a unique holder’s number into the online tool.

You can find your holder’s number on your Bond record by logging into the NS&I online service. The number will have either 10 or nine digits, or eight digits followed by a letter.

NS&I will pay the winnings straight into your bank account or reinvest them into more Bonds, depending on what you’ve asked them to do.

For any higher value winnings of £5,000 or more NS&I will need to check with you first by sending a claim form in the post for you to complete and confirm how you would like to be paid.

If you defy the odds and win big then you will be notified with a visit in person.

A NS&I representative will visit the two £1 million winners at their homes the day before the first working day of the month and before the rest of the winners are announced 24 hours later.

What are the Premium Bonds?

The NS&I Premium Bonds are a type of savings account which offer tax free prizes through its monthly draw instead of a steady interest rate on your money.

The advantage to Premium Bonds is that you can put money in and take money out whenever you want, and have a chance of winning big each month.

Each £1 bond has an equal chance of winning one of the high value prizes, ranging from £25 to £1 million.

The minimum you have to pay in is £25 and the maximum you can pay in is £50,000.
