Julie Staniland, 52, says the bizarre moment happened inside the Haunted Objects Museum in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, while her husband and daughter were standing nearby.

Julie visited with husband Roger, 56, and daughter Amy, 30, on September 26. She and Roger carry out paranormal investigations under the name Spookseekers Paranormal.

The trio were checking the property before starting their investigation when they entered an upstairs area known as the “Demon room”.

CCTV footage shows Roger saying the name “Annabelle” while pointing towards a Conjuring-inspired rag doll displayed in a glass cabinet.

Seconds later, a loud “twang” can be heard and Julie jumps before grabbing her shoulder. She claims something had suddenly pulled and released her bra strap from behind.

Julie, from Leeds, said: “As we were standing in the room, I could feel something from behind me pull my bra strap and let it go.

“It was so quick and unexpected as we hadn’t even started the investigation at this point.

“It was so loud it was such a shock. I found it quite funny and it took me by surprise.

“I think it was a spirit in the room giving us a sign. It was so bizarre that it went for my bra strap.”

The gran-of-three said she had never experienced anything similar during previous paranormal investigations.

She added: “It’s 100% a spirit that’s into women, it seemed like the spirit was being a bit flirty.

“My husband and daughter were so shocked as they heard it snap so clearly.”

Julie later contacted museum owner Lee Steer and asked him to review the CCTV footage.

Lee, 33, claims the “Demon room” contains some of the museum’s most active objects, including a UK replica of Annabelle which he says has a history of alleged paranormal activity.

He said: “It’s interesting in the video, Annabelle is mentioned and then the bra strap was pulled.

“I’m not sure why Annabelle would do this to her, if it is her, but out of all the spirits in there she does sometimes like to prove to people she’s real in the most extreme way.”

There is no scientific evidence that ghosts or spirits caused the incident.
