Following the airing of South Park’s episode titled World Privacy Tour, which mocks Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they move to a fictional town, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly ‘upset’ over it.

In the episode, Meghan and Harry’s characters hold signs saying ‘Stop looking at us!’ and ‘We want our privacy!!’ as they step off the plane.

According to The Spectator, “Sources claim that Meghan, “is annoyed by South Park, but refuses to watch it all.” But for Meghan, this couldn’t have come at a worse time.

The Duchess is said to be “obsessed with her half-sister’s litigation.”

If Meghan Markle is ‘upset’ by South Park, she wouldn’t be the first high profile person who has been upset after being depicted in the cartoon. One such A-list star who has slammed South Park is Ed Sheeran.

In 2005, there was a South Park episode, called ‘Ginger Kids,’ According to The New York Post “The show spoofed orange-coloured hair and featured Cartman creating a hate-speech presentation that said kids with ginger hair and pale skin are creepy creatures who suffer from “gingervitis.”

“Having red hair in England was always a thing that people took the p*** out of you for,” Ed Sheeran told Slam Radio. He then continued by saying: “But it was never something in America. People never knew what a ginger was in America.” Ed Sheeran then went on to say the following: “That episode of South Park f***ing ruined my life.”

Other celebrities who have had negative experiences with South Park include Tom Cruise who reportedly threatened to sue the show.

According to Distractify, “The South Park writers poked fun at Tom’s religious affiliation with the Church of Scientology, and heedless to say, he wasn’t happy about it at all.”

Although Sarah Jessica Parker never hit out at South Park after being criticised in an episode, she was bound to have been upset about her portrayal on the carton.

According to Metro: “Season 14 episode The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs sees the boys write a book which describes her (Sarah Jessica Parker) as having an ugly appearance, with the actress even called a ‘transvestite-donkey-witch’ at one point.”

If Meghan Markle is ‘upset’ after her and Prince Harry’s depictions in South Park, she can perhaps take comfort from the fact that she is not the first royal to be ‘mocked’ in the cartoon.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was ridiculed in South Park over ten years ago and many took to Twitter to express their views over this. One user said : “Yes South Park have roasted Harry and Meghan but they've done the same to William and Kate and have a history of dragging the royals before. It’s actually an honour to be coated by South Park because it shows you’re someone of relevance.”
