Who is Dr Raj Joshi? The survival expert engaged to Melinda Messenger

Former glamour model and mother of three Melinda Messenger has announced on Instagram that she is engaged to Dr Raj Joshi. The proposal happened in New Zealand where the couple are currently staying. 

It has been reported that Melinda Messenger first met Dr Raj Joshi when she was preparing for a hike across Nepal to raise money for the construction of a residential school for deaf children. Dr Raj Joshi describes himself on Twitter as an ‘Adventurer, Expedition Leader, Doctor, Military Reservist and Extreme Medicine Specialist.’

According to 360 Expeditions, Dr Raj Joshi has “operated in some of the most inhospitable places imaginable-in both a civilian and military capacity-from mountain, desert, polar and jungle environments, right through to warzones.” Dr Raj Joshi also has plenty of experience working with celebrities too. 360 Expeditions revealed that he “was the Expedition Leader for David Beckham and three of his friends through the Amazon jungle.” He also helped lead the likes of Cheryl, Gary Barlow and Chris Moyles to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro for a BBC1 documentary 

On Melinda Messenger’s Instagram, she said: “We’ve got some very happy news to share @raj.joshi.expedition and I got engaged in beautiful New Zealand at Matariki, the Maori New year, and we are getting married next year.” Fans have been quick to share their congratulations and these include actress Victoria Smurfit and television presenter Katy Hill.

Melinda has three children from her former husband Wayne Roberts, sons Morgan and Flynn as well as daughter, Evie. She previously dated ski instructor Warren Smith, the couple met on Channel 4 reality show ‘The Jump.’

Melina Messenger also dated photographer Chris Harding, the couple met on ‘Celebrity First Dates.’ Raj Joshi, who has 466 followers on Instagram and shared their engagement news there, is also the founder of ‘The Adventure Boutique.’ The company describes itself as offering “tailor-made trips, embedded with taste, that are a little out of the ordinary.”
