Matt Hancock’s reality show appearances may have cost him his Tory Whip but the controversial former health secretary is sticking close to TV as he has created his own television production company.

Matt starred on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity last year and ended up coming in third place after he resigned from his position as health secretary.

The politician, who was initially subject to controversy after footage leaked of him kissing his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo during the height of the pandemic, was met at the end of the bridge by his partner.

Gina Coladangelo was by his side again when they were seen in the crowd of Dancing on Ice earlier this month.

I’m A Celebrity was not the first reality show appearance Matt has made, as he had also starred on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, but now he is seemingly vying for further television opportunities as he has been named as the sole director of his new production firm, Greenhazel.

The address for the production company was registered with Companies House last month in Newmarket, Suffolk.

Although Matt’s television appearances were met with severe backlash in light of the former health secretary breaking his own Covid-19 guidance and seemingly ‘abandoning’ his role as an MP, the politician highlighted he would give some of his earnings to charity and raise awareness of dyslexia; as seen by £10,000 of Matt’s reported £320,000 fee being donated.

Matt’s charitable donation comes as the politician also auctioned off a signed Newcastle Utd shirt as part of radio DJ Chris Evans’ online auction to raise money for the NHS.

However, in addition to people criticising the proportion of money Matt donated from his I’m A Celeb earnings, people were quick to question Matt after he posted a video wearing said auctioned Newcastle shirt.

While Matt has responded to critics suggesting that the buyer who won the shirt in fact gave it back to him as a gift, social media users are continuing to call his bluff.

For example, one person tweeted: “Hey @MattHancock, I have this amazing story that you just won't believe but honestly it's true. I just sold my car last week and the guy I sold it to... gave it back to me.”

Others were quick to quip that the former Tory Whip had ‘been ordered by Newcastle to never wear their shirts again’.

As momentum builds surrounding the ‘shirt-gate’, some social media users also played around with potential TV programmes that Matt could make with his new production company, Greenhazel including ‘Unbelievable Me’, ‘Bangers and Cash’ or ‘Hancock’s Half Hour’.

PeopleWorld will keep our eyes peeled for Greenhazel's new shows.
