Family left heartbroken over the sudden death of dad-of-two Gary Croke at 47 whilst on holiday

Gary Croke, who was a dad-of-two, has died suddenly whilst on holiday. Gary Croke who is originally from Waterford City in Ireland, had been visiting friends in Brighton before they were due to head to Ireland for Thanksgiving. A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of the family after Gary Croke’s tragic death.

The GoFundMe page reads: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our cherished friend Gary’s sudden passing. Gary was a devoted husband to Alysia and a loving father to Molly (17) and Patrick (10).

“Gary was well-known in the soccer community not only as a youth coach but as an active player on several adult leagues. His kindness, laughter and ridiculously quick wit were unmatched.

“Gary and his family were in Brighton, England, visiting friends before they were to travel on to spend Thanksgiving in Ireland with their family. Tragically, on Monday morning (11/24/25), Gary passed away unexpectedly, leaving his family far from home and facing a heartbreaking loss.

“The suddenness of Gary’s passing has brought overwhelming challenges. The costs associated with these challenges are significant. Relieving some of the financial burdens will allow Alysia to focus on ensuring stability and support for Molly and Patrick as they continue their education and adjust to life without their father.

An update was given on November 30 which reads: “On behalf of Alysia, Molly, and Patrick, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated, shared, and reached out during this incredibly heartbreaking time.

“The love, generosity, and support shown by this community is truly humbling, and a beautiful testament to the impact Gary had on all of our lives.

We will share details about a stateside memorial for Gary as they become available.”

The Facebook group for Tidewater Sharks Soccer Club paid tribute to Gary Crokes and wrote: “Our Sharks community is heartbroken to share that Coach Gary Croke passed away suddenly while visiting friends overseas.

“Gary brought so much joy, passion, and kindness to our fields, and his impact will be felt for years to come.

“A GoFundMe has been created to support his wife Alysia and their children during this unimaginable time. As a club, let’s come together and help provide the stability and support they need.”
