The iconic Red Arrows will perform a number of flypasts this summer as the weather gets warmer and the skies get clearer. The aerobatic display team of the RAF, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, will begin their schedule of performances on Wednesday 5 June as the UK hosts a number of commemorative events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Public members will be joining Normandy landings veterans, members of the Armed Forces, and the King for a special gathering in Portsmouth on Wednesday 5 June with celebrations topped by a Red Arrows flypast.

Website military-airshows.co.uk notes that the Red Arrows will fly over Bournemouth, the Isle of Wight, and Portsmouth into the New Forest. The jets are also due to grace the skies of Douglas Bay on Friday 7 June, during Isle of Man TT race week. The Red Arrows will start their routine at around 7.30pm.

Formed in 1964, their flypasts have become must-see events. The public have the chance to see their displays this summer at the likes of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Royal International Air Tattoo and the British Grand Prix, and they will also soar over Buckingham Palace once more for the King’s birthday later this month.
