I've been trying two gorgeous matching sets from Pour Moi's autumn lingerie collection, and they're proof that stylish underwear doesn't have to come at the expense of comfort.

Pour Moi's autumn lingerie collection is packed with rich seasonal colours, delicate lace and intricate embroidery, with bras and matching briefs that look sophisticated and feel really good.

The British lingerie brand has embraced autumn with deep burgundy, gorgeous purples and pretty floral patterns. I've been trying two sets from the latest collection, Atelier Lace in Blackberry/Pink and Amour in Midnight/Rose, and they get a resounding yes from me.

It's not always easy to find lingerie that looks gorgeous and feels comfortable enough to wear all day. Sometimes the prettiest sets turn out to be the ones you actively avoid wearing again.

What I like about Pour Moi's autumn lingerie

First up is the Atelier Lace Lightly Padded Plunge Underwired Bra, £34, and matching Brazilian Brief, £16, in a gorgeous combination of deep blackberry and soft pink.

The delicate floral-inspired lace gives the set a feminine feel, while the lightly padded plunge bra creates a flattering shape. I particularly love the contrast between the rich purple and softer pink shades. It's eye-catching without being over the top.

The Amour Padded Balconette Bra, £34, and Brazilian Brief, £16, in Midnight/Rose is also a winner.

This one's every bit as appealing, with deep midnight blue and softer rose detailing creating a classy, elegant look. The balconette design offers a different shape from the Atelier Lace plunge bra, and the matching briefs finish things off perfectly.

But what stands out bout both sets is the comfort. We've all had underwear that look wonderful when you first put them on but become increasingly irritating as the day goes on. Not so here.

Both sets feel lovely against the skin, fit comfortably and look good at the same time.

I also love the fact that Pour Moi has moved away from more traditional lingerie colours. These richer shades feel luxurious, and there's something about wearing a matching set that makes you feel just that little bit more put together.

At £50 for each complete set, I think they offer good value, too.

The wider autumn collection also includes the Rhea Luxe Embroidered Full Cup Bra, £45, and matching Mesh Back Thong, £20, in a striking red and burgundy colourway.

What I don't like about Pour Moi's autumn lingerie

At £50 for a matching bra and briefs, these aren't the cheapest lingerie sets on the market, particularly if you're planning to give your entire underwear drawer a makeover.

And if you prefer a smooth silhouette under your clothes, these might not be the best choice. The intricate lace detailing looks lovely, but could show through more fitted outfits or lightweight fabrics.

My verdict on Pour Moi's autumn lingerie

Pour Moi has got the balance between style and comfort spot on. Both sets have exceeded my expectations, and while they look quite glamorous, there's absolutely no reason to save them for a special occasion.

Pour Moi has also teamed up with style expert Gok Wan for its Designed to Fit campaign, encouraging women to experiment with different colours, shapes and styles to find lingerie that makes them feel confident.

His advice? "Choose pieces that make you smile when you put them on."

I couldn't agree more. There's something about wearing lovely lingerie that gives you a little confidence boost, even if you're the only person who knows what you're wearing.

And that's exactly what I've found with these two sets. They've made a welcome addition to my underwear drawer, and I can see myself reaching for them again and again.

If you're looking to give your lingerie collection a bit of a refresh, Pour Moi's autumn range is well worth a look.
