Prince William says he has "no other agenda" than helping people in need because that is "part of my role" - in a new ITV documentary. Filmed over 12 months, the new show, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, follows the first year of Homewards – a five-year programme founded by The Prince and The Royal Foundation - which aims to end homelessness.

Hide AdIt features powerful stories of those currently facing homelessness or who have lived experience of the issue, alongside some life-changing solutions.
In a short clip of the documentary, released on Wednesday (October 16), Prince William said: “I think everyone having a right to a safe and stable home benefits us all. I come with no other agenda than desperately trying to help people who are in need.
“And I see that as part of my role. Why else would I be here if I’m not using this role properly to influence and help people where I can. And I like a big challenge. But I can’t do it on my own.”

Hide AdHomewards has been working in six flagship locations across the UK - Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth in London, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield. The aim is to provide a space, tools and expertise to deliver and demonstrate innovative solutions that prevent and end homelessness.
Inspired by success stories in countries such as Finland, Homewards hopes to change the narrative around homelessness. Earlier this year, speaking at a special event to mark the first year of Homewards, the Prince said: "The energy and enthusiasm that each individual and organisation is bringing to the programme, and to showing that it is possible to end homelessness in their local area, is inspiring and I know, together, we can do this."
The two-part documentary series is produced by Mindhouse and directed by BAFTA-winning Leo Burley. It will air on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on October 30 and 31.
