Although Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden’s fourth child will be eighth in line to the throne, they will not be known as HRH. In 2019, King Carl XV1 Gustaf made the decision that their children along with the children of Prince Carl Phillip’s sister Princess Madeleine would not carry out royal duties in the future and would no longer be styled HRH.
At the time, Swedish historian Dick Harrison told the BBC that “Being removed from the royal house would also allow the youngsters to "live ordinary lives.” He also said: "They don't have to bother with being fenced in. They are made into ordinary people but still members of the royal club.”
Before marrying Prince Carl Phillip, Princess Sofia, the then Sofia Hellqvist was a former reality-TV star and glamour model. The couple married at Stockholm’s Royal Palace and thousands of well-wishers lined the streets.
